Hazel Henderson

Hazel Henderson passed away, Friday, February 05, 2016 in Florala, AL after a lingering illness.A graveside service for Hazel will be held at Enterprise City Cemetery at 2:00 P.M., on Sunday, February 7, 2016 with Reverend Ben Bowden officiating and Searcy Funeral Home directing. Memorials may be made to the Coffee County Arts Alliance, PO Box 310447, Enterprise, AL 36331.Hazel was born in Enterprise, Alabama on May 12, 1950, daughter of John Wilbur and Luella Botsford Henderson. She attended Enterprise City Schools, and graduated from Lakemont Academy in Lakemont, New York. She attended Chapman College, Arizona State University and the University of Miami to pursue her interest in art and architecture.Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Joseph Adolphus Henderson. She was cared for and is survived by her siblings, Hilda H. Hagins (Steve); Helen H. Hildebrand; Harriet H. Patterson, and John Wilbur Henderson, Jr. Hazel had nine nieces and nephews, Heather Hagins, Melissa Osborne, David Hagins, Timothy Hildebrand, Justin Hildebrand, John Henderson, III, Katherine Chapman, Laura Lacey, and Kimberly Barbrey. Her extended family was an important part of Hazels early life, and she is survived by nine first cousins.
