Stancel Hornsby age 93 of New Brockton, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior January 5, 2016 at 11:50 P.M., with his family by his side, at North Baldwin hospital in Bay Minette, AL. Mr. Hornsby was born September 20, 1922.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 8, 2016 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Brother Mark Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Old Tabernacle Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M. and continuing until service time.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lem and Bessie Hornsby of Jack, AL, eight brothers and one sister.Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Edna Griswold Hornsby; two sons, Stanley E. Hornsby; Johnny L. Hornsby (Deb) all of New Brockton, AL; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hornsby, Elba, AL; Heath Hornsby, Elba, AL; Amanda Hornsby, New Brockton, AL; sister, Peggy Lewis (Bill) Ozark, AL; four sisters-in-law, Cupidean Hornsby, Montgomery, AL; Lilla Mae Hornsby, Ozark, AL; Corine Hornsby, Atmore, AL; Rose Hornsby, Pensacola, FL; many nieces and nephews.
