Tula Gilchrist Nichols, age 95, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Monday, September 7, 2015 in Medical Center Enterprise.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Moore and Rev. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund 302 North Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.Tula was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Tollie Gilchrist; her siblings, William Alvin Gilchrist; John W. Gilchrist; Jesse Ola Gilchrist; Mary Alice Spurlin; Terry Clyde Gilchrist; J. Maxwell Gilchrist and Nell Gilchrist Wise.Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Speed W. W. Nichols, Enterprise, AL; daughters, Debby (Gordon) McCullough, Austin, TX; Elisa (Al) Hollmann, Harvest, AL; four grandchildren, Wade (Laura) Waters, San Antonio, TX; John (Melanie) Waters, Austin, TX; James Hollmann, Harvest, AL; Ashley (U. G.) Wilson, Madison, AL; a sister, Elizabeth Baker, Troy, AL. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
