Harold Edward Bennett

Harold Edward Bennett, age 79, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Noland Hospital in Dothan, AL.             Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel for both Mr. Bennett, and his wife, Jackie Bennett, who was cremated in 2010, as they will be laid to rest together. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home on Friday, November 4th from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.             He was retired from the U S Army with the rank of CW4, with over 22 years of service. According to his daughter’s, Mr. Bennett is the next best thing to sliced bread and was their “gentle giant”.             Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Shigeko “Jackie” Bennett, daughter, Dawn F. Morton, grandson, Joel F. Sidonio and a brother, Robert L. Bennett.             Survivors include two daughters, Bobbi Bennett, Enterprise, AL; Renee Bennett Simmons (Darryl) Crane Hill, AL; 8 grandchildren, 6 males and 2 females; 14 great-grandchildren, 4 males and 10 females.
