Arline Lucille (Taylor) Meservy

November 8, 1942 — July 20, 2021

Arline Lucille (Taylor) Meservy passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021, at the age of 78, while sleeping at her home in Johnston City, IL. Born in Chicago, Arline grew up in Johnston City and is a graduate of JCHS. Though, she was also a long time resident of the Wiregrass area of Alabama for much of her life. Arline served 3 years in the Women’s Army Corps. Personal secretary to the commander of the Army Security Agency Pacific, in Japan. Was a Deputy State Patrolman at the atomic energy site in Idaho. Attended Ricks College, Enterprise State Junior College, and USC. Office manager for a program Director at Georgia Tech and again at the business school at the University of Southern California. Worked on her private pilot’s license. Was a Realtor in both California and Alabama. And was a team driver of a big commercial truck in 45 of the 48 continental states .. and British Columbia, Canada. Arline felt the last 5-1/2 years she was living on borrowed time. She nearly passed away in November 2015 from congestive heart failure. So her passing was unexpected, but not. This made her last years spent with family, classmates, and friends particularly sweet. She had no regrets about her life! Arline will be forever remembered by her loving husband of 33 years, Royal, and their 8 children: Karen (Brazzelle), Roy Richins, Anna (Wilkinson), JaNae (Thomas), Royal E. Meservy, Joshua Ian Meservy, Kira (Hutto), & Katrina (Larsen). Arline will also be greatly missed by her 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. As well as her extended family members, and dear friends. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Arline Lucille (Taylor) Meservy, please visit our flower store.
