Carl Sebern Berry

Carl Sebern Berry, age 86, of Daleville, AL, passed away, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Daleville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Daleville Baptist Church, 100 Donnell Blvd., Daleville, AL 36322.   Carl is a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and Air Medal with Valor. Carl moved to Daleville in 1965 with his family and recently deceased beloved wife, Anna Elizabeth Berry. He retired from the military in 1968 after 20 years of service. He then maintained an insurance practice in Daleville for 48 years to include Emeritus status with Prudential Insurance. Carl was a long time member and Deacon of the Daleville Baptist Church and also enjoyed community volunteer work through the Lions Club International. Survivors include his sons, Rick Berry, Enterprise, AL; Scott Berry, Daleville, AL; Bryan Berry, Birmingham, AL; daughter, Sheila Berry Bell, Huntsville, AL; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
