Charlotte Gaskin Aughinbaugh, 92, died December 29, 2021, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital, Chipley, FL. She was born July 21, 1929, in Blountstown, FL, to Carlos Lamar and Mary Bentley Gaskin. She and her husband John Richard Aughinbaugh, Jr. were married for 62 years. He predeceased her by 10 days on December 19, 2021. She is survived by her step-son Michael (SueAnn), her brother-in-law Harry (Joan), her step-grandson Michael John Aughinbaugh, her step-granddaughters Holly Aughinbaugh and Amelia Buckingham, and her nieces and nephews, Carlos Gaskin (Cheryl), Hal Gaskin (Helen), Bill Gaskin, Loren Forbus (Dena), Melinda Forbus Lane (Tommy), and Rob Forbus (Angel). She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Arthur Ellen Gaskin and Margaret Gaskin Forbus, her brothers Harold Gaskin and Jack Gaskin, and her nephew Ben Gaskin. Charlotte was an FBI fingerprinter, serving under J. Edgar Hoover, and later became a devoted military wife, exploring the world with John. An active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, she devoted many hours to the church library and Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed the Senior Adult Ministry. Visitation is at 10 am CST on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 500 Alberta Street, Enterprise, AL., with the funeral following at 11 am. Burial will be at Meadowlawn Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Library Fund, 500 Alberta Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.
