David Neil Hataway

David Neil Hataway of Enterprise, AL passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at his home. He was 68.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2024 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel will Rev. Patrick McBride officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Laurel Hill, FLThe family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or any cancer charity of your choice. 

Mr. Hataway enjoyed working in the yard, porch sitting, feeding the birds and squirrels, Cade’s Cove and golfing. He also enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and Alabama Football. He had over 30 years of ambulance service at Ft. Rucker and ended his civil service career as a Chief Paramedic Supervisor. He was an active and faithful member of Heritage Church.

Mr. Hataway was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sheldon and Louise Moore; paternal grandparents, Alto and Myra Hataway; parents, Lanelle and Doug Hataway; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ferrell and Lou McDougald.

Survivors include his wife, Janet McDougald Hataway , Enterprise, AL; 2 sons, Brandon Hataway (Courtney), Enterprise, AL; Dustin Hataway, Enterprise, AL; granddaughter, Hannah Hataway; brother, Daniel Hataway (Darlene), Babbie, AL; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Patrick McDougald, Florala, AL and Marcus McDougald (Lynn), Enterprise, AL.
