Earl Duffell was born at home on the Coffee/Covington County Line on January 24, 1937. He died peacefully in his sleep at Enterprise Health and Rehab in the early morning hours on Saturday, January 27 2024. Earl was preceded in death by his father Bartow Duffell, his mother and his aunt (Jesse Bell Duffell and Molly Richburg), his sisters Anne McCuistian (Loyd) and Lessie Mauldin (James). He is survived by two nephews, Richard and Mark McCuistian, and one niece, Michele McCuistian. Earl graduated from Coffee County High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1955 to January 1958. He was a painter for many years and shared ownership of a thrift shop with his sister Lessie, and Earl had many loyal customers. From December 2020 until early January 2024, Earl lived alone before moving to Enterprise Health and Rehab, where he passed away. A short memorial service will be held at the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024, with Pastor Danny Wiggins officiating.
