Edna S. Martin

Edna S. Martin, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at her home. She was 91. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 12, 2022 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Enterprise Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden and Rev. Edd Brashier officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made in memory of Edna to First Baptist Church, Enterprise, Alabama. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, George and Flora Strickland; brothers, Cecil and Douglas, and sister, Linda Carr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 72 years Murray Martin, Enterprise, AL; three children, Bruce Martin (Marie), Keansburg, NJ; Edward Martin (Charlotte), Arlington, TN; Karen Martin (Mike Nysewander), Enterprise, AL; seven grandchildren, Robert, Erica, Eddie, David, Michael, Jacob and Joshua; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Clara Casey and Frances Bowman. Edna was born June 11, 1931. She graduated from Enterprise High School in 1949. She loved the lord and cherished her family and friends. She was a loving and thoughtful person and will be sorely and fondly missed. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, baptized by Pastor Dr. Justice and she loved her church. We would like to thank our church very much for their prayers, help and visits. We also like to thank Day Springs Hospice for all they did and being there whenever we needed them. Their caregivers were truly a God send to us, especially Belinda Wilder and April DeOliveira. It is truly an honor to carry on the legacy of love she left us with and we know it will be a source of strength and comfort.
