Elaine Walls Thompson

Elaine Walls Thompson, of New Brockton, AL, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was 89. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorials Gardens Cemetery in Elba with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until service time. Mrs. Thompson was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Elba and was an active member until her health declined. After her husband’s death in 1965, she began working at Elba Exchange Bank and continued working with the bank until her retirement. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Lewie Thompson; parents, Wilbur H. Walls, Sr. and Bessie McCall Walls; 2 brothers, Johnny and Wilbur H. Walls, Jr. She is survived by her loving sons, Lewie Eddie Thompson (Jani), Enterprise, AL, Mike Thompson, Enterprise, AL, and Bruce Thompson (Vickie), New Brockton; her grandchildren, Wendy Lew Thompson McNatt (Marc), Simpsonville, SC, Tiffany Thompson Holland (Jonathan), Navarre Beach, FL, Michael Thompson (Lindsey) Mobile, AL, Melissa Thompson Springis (Michael), Daleville, AL, Lewie Thompson (Marie) Auburn, AL; great-grandchildren, Whitney McNatt, Noah Thompson Holland, Sunny Holland and Rosalie Springis; sisters, Betty Barr (Dick), Zanesville, OH, Miriam Parker, Birmingham, AL and Martha Claussen, Panama City Beach, FL; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and other relatives.
