He worked at Fort Rucker with the maintenance contractor as an aircraft mechanic for almost 37 years. He loved his family, his friends, co-workers and his church family at Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as an ordained deacon and in numerous other ministries throughout the years. He spent many years working in the children’s department, Royal Ambassadors, AWANA, VBS, the youth department and with the puppet team. He also hosted numerous international college students from Troy University in his home. Glenn loved all sports with a ball, baseball and football in high school, softball for way too many years, later golf and then disc golf, but most of all he enjoyed coaching his sons in whatever sports they chose to play. He later loved traveling to see his boys, hiking, biking, kayaking and also experiencing as many different national parks and monuments as possible. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Sharon Filipowski and his sister Gail Filipowski. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Donna Filipowski; two sons, Justin Filipowski (Karina) and Carson Filipowski (Ember); two brothers, Robert Filipowski (Oki) and Shane Filipowski (Amanda); in-laws Elmer and Louella McLean, Michelle Nichols (Steve) and Brenda Brewer (Mike); numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Digestive Health Specialists, Dothan Hematology & Oncology, Centerwell Home Health, Day Spring Palliative Care-Hospice and Dr. Sam Sawyer.
