Howard Clegg, 85, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. Howard was born on May 29, 1936 to Howard and Margaret (Bryan) Clegg in New Texas, PA. He was a hardworking and independent man who always strived for excellence in whatever he did. He was a veteran of the US Army. He spent most of his career working as a supervisor in quality control in Orlando, FL, then in Houston, TX. Howard retired and moved to Enterprise in 2001, where he worked at ESCC as a courier. His Enterprise friends and neighbors were a special gift. Golf and spending time with his family were two of his greatest passions. Howard was especially proud of the accomplishments of his children and was an extremely doting grandfather to his grand and great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Dr. Olivia Poole officiating and Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Howard’s memory can be made to Kindred Hospice, 1032 Boll Weevil Circle, Suite D, Enterprise, AL 36330 Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his former spouse, Lucy Bell Clegg; his brother, Edward Clegg, and his step-son, Glenn Cravey. Howard is survived by his daughters Kim Baker (John) of Enterprise and Donna Pendrey (Martin) of the United Kingdom; son Matthew Clegg (Angela) of The Woodlands, TX; step-son Ryan Cravey (Alison) of The Woodlands, TX; brother Don Clegg of Enterprise; sister Kathy Hawkins of Debary, FL; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Howard’s family is grateful for the care he received from Kindred Hospice and Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center.
