Huey Ed Cordle

Huey Ed Cordle, 95, of New Brockton, AL passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Slade Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in New Brockton City Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:30 P.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Ed retired from Ft. Rucker after 26 years. During the later years before retiring, he became known as the “Peach Man” and sold peaches in the summer for 38 years. Friends called months in advance to make sure the “peach man” didn’t forget about them. Mr. Cordle was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Willie Jean Ramsey Cordle; his parents, William Norman and Evie Lorraine Cordle; sisters, Euna Maddox, Marguerite Carter, Wava Purvis; brothers, Emmett Cordle, Milford Cordle, Artis Cordle, Herbert Cordle, Gene Cordle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Pierce and Addie Belle Ramsey; sister-in-law, Linda Rodgers; brothers-in-law, John Ramsey, Tommy Ramsey, Harry Ramsey, Jimmy Ramsey, Wendell "Wink" Rodgers. Survivors include his daughter, Paula Bowman, Enterprise, AL; son, Eddie Cordle (David Vann) New Brockton. AL; granddaughter, Carla Bowman, Enterprise, AL; grandson, Brian Bowman (Camryn), Chancellor, AL; great-grand-daughters, Elizabeth Wollaston, Quincy, MI, Cameren McBryde (Kenny), Enterprise, AL, Rebekka Droui (Dustin), Midland, TX, Brianna Bowman, Enterprise, AL, Alyssa Bowman, Bellwood, AL; 2 great-great-granddaughters, Naomi and Bailey McBryde; sister, Lois Cleckler Miller, Clanton, AL; sisters-in-law, Charlie Mae Cordle and Annette Martin Cordle; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Reba and Jon Blissitte; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Thompson Ramsey; several nieces and nephews.
