Ssg (Ret.) James Kenneth Conneway

James Kenneth Conneway, age 64, of Enterprise, AL, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Troy Regional Memorial Center as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Jim Duhaime officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 P.M. Ken enlisted in the Army through the delayed entry program in his senior year of high school. In June of 1974 he graduated, married his high school sweetheart and left for basic training over a period of 10 days. After his 20 year career he retired and worked for Duke Pest Service for 17 years. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 150 for several years. Both of his sons were on the Enterprise High Drill Team in the 90’s and he held several positions in the Drill Team Boosters Club and was called Super Booster by the cadets. Both sons also went on to serve in the Army with the youngest giving his life in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. On April 21st he was joyously reunited with his son. Mr. Conneway was preceded in death by a son, SGT. Timothy M. Conneway and his mother, Thelma Conneway. Survivors include his wife, Sally A. Conneway, Enterprise, AL; a son, Mark W. Conneway, Raeford, NC; a daughter, Cathrine Conneway Gutierrez (Raul) Wispering Pines, NC; his father, Fred D. Conneway, Enterprise, AL; a sister, Lisa M.
