Jim W. Vannoy

Jim W. Vannoy, born on March 20, 1939, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his home. He was 85.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Pastor Wendell Benner officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Old Tabernacle Community Church, 11596 Highway 51, New Brockton, AL 36351.

Jim was a distinguished United States Army veteran, a respected Wall Street Stock Broker, and proud small business owner. His most recent venture, “Compulogic” was located in Pocono Lake, PA. Jim dedicated his life to his family and his work, retiring to New Brockton, Alabama in June 2022. He was a devoted member of the Old Tabernacle Community Church, where he found fellowship and joy in his faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Willis Vannoy and Ora Mast Vannoy, and sister-in-law, Sue Vannoy. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Snellgrove Vannoy; three children, Mona Vannoy Hamby (Byron); James W. Vannoy, Jr. (Kristen); William Lamar Vannoy (Tina); twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Vannoy; numerous nieces and nephews.
