Janey Ruth Strickland

Janey Ruth Strickland of New Brockton, AL passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation. She was 73.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 3, 2025 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Gary Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time. 

Mrs. Strickland enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, painting, and just being creative. She had a passion for singing old hymns and enjoyed attending church. Mrs. Strickland’s life was centered around her family, whom she treasured deeply. She supported and nurtured her loved ones, but her greatest affection was reserved for her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. 

Survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, Virgle Leon Strickland, New Brockton, AL; two daughters, Mirenda Bell (Jerome), Rutledge, AL; Amanda Broxson (Eric), Enterprise, AL; three sons, Stacey Austin (Heather), New Brockton, AL; Josh McCall, Geneva, AL; Kyle Strickland, New Brockton, AL; eleven grandchildren, Marisa Quick (Jesse), Jesse Bell (Helaina), Aaron Bell, Bryson Austin, Caden Austin, Sael Strickland, Yoh Strickland, Shaya Strickland, Riah Strickland, Kaysley Broxson and Camden Broxson; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Rudd (Harry), Dallas, GA; Phyllis Wegener, Douglasville, GA; brother, Jim Mims (Dee Dee), Prosper, TX.
