Jason Paul Oates, of Chancellor, AL passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at his home. He was 45.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Kevin Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Adult & Teen Challenge Alabama, PO Box 270, Lincoln, AL 35096.
Jason was kind, gentle-hearted, and loved to give to his friends and community. He ran a one-way messaging group to share his love of the Lord and life with his community. Adult & Teen Challenge Alabama held a special place in his heart, where he was afforded the opportunity to serve. Jason took every chance he had to share the gospel and often referred to Jesus as the glue that held your life together. He also had a passion for University of Alabama football.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother Sue Oates, paternal grandfather James Oates, maternal grandfather Paul Hughes, maternal grandmother Merle Grant, uncle Wayne Oates, and cousin Andrew Oates.
Survivors include his daughter, Endia Love Oates, Auburn, AL; father, Harry James Oates (Gina), Enterprise, AL; brother, Michael James Oates (Lauri), Panama City, FL; paternal grandmother, Frances Oates, Chancellor, AL; four nieces, Ally, Kayley, Kinsey, and Aubrie Sue; nephew, Mathew; aunt, Paulette Green, Daleville, AL; two uncles, Steve Oates (Rita), Enterprise, AL; Johnny Hughes, Enterprise, AL; two cousins, Angela Buxton (Buck), Enterprise, AL; Tabitha Davis (Kevin).
