Jeffrey Wayne Giles, 60, of Enterprise, AL passed away peacefully Friday, March 24, 2023 at Flowers Hospital surrounded by his family after a 2 year battle with cancer. Jeff was born on June 8, 1962 to Marshall and Barbara Giles in Clanton, AL. He spent the first 42 years of his life in Clanton before moving to Enterprise, AL in 2005 to be with his loving wife. Jeff was the epitome of a hardworking man. He spent a majority of his life in the tree service industry. After working long days in the woods, Jeff still found the time to help anyone around him, fix up old trucks, and spend time with his family. Jeff was a devoted husband for 18 years, father to 3 children, and “Grampy” to 5 adoring granddaughters who he lovingly called his “Squirrels.” Grampy was the best playmate with the biggest imagination. He taught the girls how to ride bikes, drive golf carts, and ride 4wheelers down dirt roads. If the girls were spending the day with Grampy, they were sure to be covered from head to toe in dirt, well hydrated from the stocked cooler he kept in the back of his truck, and well loved with the biggest smiles on their faces. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, March 29 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden, Pastor Erik West, and Pastor Danny Sherrer officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00AM until service time. Mr. Giles was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Destie Giles; maternal grandparents, Allen and Sadie Foshee; brothers-in-law, Barry Bainbridge and Frank Bolton. Survivors include his wife, Linda Thornton Giles, Enterprise, AL; sons, Jarrod Giles (Katie), Clanton, AL, Rodney Thornton (Sabrina), Enterprise, AL; daughter, Ashton White (Jason), Enterprise, AL; parents, Marshall and Barbara Giles, Clanton, AL; sisters, Connie Bainbridge, Clanton, AL, Susan Bennett (Craig), Clanton, AL; 5 grandchildren, Caroline Thornton, Isla Cate Thornton, Ella White, Lucy White and Adeline Giles; and other extended family.
