John Albert Dean

John Albert Dean of Chancellor, AL passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his home. He was 82. Per John’s request, a private graveside service will take place at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DaySpring Hospice. John was a beloved son, husband, father, and brother. He was devoted to his family, to the care of his farm, and was a great steward of his land. He said that all life is dependent on the first three inches of soil and that we are all blessed. He was preceded in death by his firstborn son, Jeffrey Paul Dean, and brother, E. L. Dean, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Suzanne Dean; second-born son, Ashley Andrews Dean of Vestavia Hills, AL; one brother, William R. Dean (Freida) of Mountain Brook, AL; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
