John Roscoe Byrd

John Roscoe Byrd a lifetime resident of Enterprise, AL entered eternal rest, Thursday, October 5, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 99 years old. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 9, 2023 at Grace Place Church, Salem Cemetery with Chaplain Jadon Schank officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Place Church, 5730 Shellfield Road, Enterprise, AL 36330. Roscoe was born November 27, 1923 to the late Henry I. Byrd and Florence Cain Byrd. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 71 years Edna E. Averett Byrd, two sisters, Wilma Stephens and Mildred Hines, and brother Dewey Max Byrd. Survivors include his two sons, John Harold Byrd (Brenda); Ted Allen Byrd (Sandra); daughter, Shirley Byrd Davis (Ronnie); four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.
