John English Lawrence

John Lawrence of Newton, AL passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his residence. He was 75. No services are scheduled at this time. John is preceded in death by his parents; Oline and Udell Lawrence and by his brother and sister-in-law; Ray and Doris Lawrence. John retired from the United States Army after 32 years of service. He was awarded the Bronze Star along with numerous other achievement medals. He served in Vietnam. John loved to travel all over the world and to take cruises. He enjoyed sightseeing whether it was in the states or across the world. He loved fishing and went anytime the opportunity presented itself. Survivors include his wife of 10 years; Connie Lawrence, Newton, AL; one son; Michael Crook (Christe) Wichita Falls, TX; grandson, Kyler Crook and a granddaughter, Alyssa Crook; two brothers; Carlton Wayne Lawrence, VA; Larry Lawrence (Lois) Marion, NC; nephews, Buddy, Tony and Gary.
