John Will "Shug" Thompson

John Will “Shug” Thompson, age 84, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory. He Retired from Ft. Rucker as a Aircraft Mechanic and Supervisor with Aviation contractors after 40 years. He was a religious education teacher at St. John for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ed and Mildred Thompson and a sister, Elaine Byrd. Survivors include his wife, Lou Alice Thompson, Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Tammy Thompson Medley, Enterprise, AL; Lisa DeNamur (William), Columbus, GA; a sister, Brenda Patrick, Ozark, AL; five grandchildren, Shanna Barnes (Jerid), Enterprise, AL; Lee Medley (Cassie), Enterprise, AL; Mason DeNamur, Columbus, GA; Ally DeNamur, Columbus, GA; Matthew DeNamur, Columbus, GA; 4 great-grandchildren.
