Jorge Serafin Ruiz Leon, age 75, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully at the home of his son in New Brockton, Alabama on Monday, March 28, 2025.

Jorge was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in the little things—tinkering with cars, savoring a fish sandwich from McDonald’s, and relaxing on his sofa with a Viceroy cigarette, watching his favorite TV shows. His warmth, humor, and quiet strength will be remembered fondly by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Jorge Serafin Ruiz and daughter-in-law Michelle Ruiz of New Brockton, AL; his daughter, Tina Ruiz of Orlando, FL; his ex-wife and best friend, Olga Iris Kohrt of Kissimmee, FL; and his beloved grandchildren: Gabby, Jarod, Austin, Matthew, Sarah Ruiz, and Alycea Favreau. He also leaves behind his brother, Francisco Ruiz, and sister, Miriam House, both from Brooklyn, NY.
