Kimberly Sloan Melton

Kimberly Sloan Melton, age 56, of Enterprise, AL, passed away peacefully Monday, March 20, 2023 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2023 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Enterprise Chapel with Rev. Howard Moore and Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 P.M. until service time. She was born July 20, 1966 to Patsy Byrd and Buddy Pittman. She was married to Charles Ray Melton for 28 years and together they shared five beautiful children and five grandchildren. Sloan was employed with Enterprise City Schools Transportation Department for 14 years. She enjoyed all things outside and being on the farm with her animals. Sloan truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures of spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Buck and Lizzie Flowers, paternal grandparents Atlas and Ernestine Pittman, father Buddy Pittman, brother Bron Pittman, daddy Billy Byrd, step-son Steven Melton, uncles Jack Hanson, Roy Pittman and Ray Pittman. Survivors include her husband, Charles Ray Melton, Enterprise, AL; mother, Patsy Flowers Byrd; children, Gunter Thornton (Courtney), Brundidge, AL; Garret Thornton (Amber), Slocomb, AL; Saige Galimore (Brad), Coffee Springs, AL; step-son, Brent Melton (Susan), Enterprise, AL; grandchildren, Evin and Easton Thornton, Hudson Thornton, Barrett Galimore; step-granddaughter, Callie Chastang (Dennis); siblings, Sonya Pittman and Atlas Pittman; aunts, Peggy Hanson; Gail Tucker (Terry); uncle, Bobby Flowers (Margaret); numerous cousins.
