Lell Baker

Mrs. Lell Baker age 97 of Conyers, GA, formerly of Enterprise, AL, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Mrs. Baker was born on August 23, 1926 to Marion and Lula Mae Ellis who have preceded her in death. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Byron Byrd Baker; her sister Lorene Ethridge; her brothers Herman Ellis, Wenzel Ellis, Warner Ellis, and Dozier Ellis. Born and raised in Enterprise, AL, she graduated from Coffee County High School. Mrs. Baker was the office manager for General Telephone in Enterprise, an Officer for Enterprise Pilot Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Enterprise. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and loved fishing. Mrs. Baker moved from Enterprise, AL to Conyers, GA in 2004 to be closer to family. She joined Smyrna Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the quilting group. She enjoyed her friends at Smyrna, and the family deeply appreciates Smyrna’s ministry to her through the years. Mrs. Baker is survived by her son Ronnie Ellis Baker (Rebecca); her granddaughter Jennifer Wells (Wesley); her grandson Jonathan Baker (Melissa); her great grandchildren Kirsten Hester (Austin), Jacob Wells, Kenley Phagan (Joshua), Kaidance Mullis (Ethan), and Payton Wells; her great-great granddaughter Daisy Raine Hester; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Stephanie Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM (CST) Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Enterprise City Cemetery, Enterprise, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Share the Joy” project, which is the ministry of Smyrna Presbyterian Church to their nursing home and homebound friends.
