Louis “Tony” Spadaro, age 96, of Daleville, AL, passed away, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Dothan, AL. Louis Spadaro entered the US Army in 1942 and deployed to North Africa with Gen. Mark Clark’s 5th Army, 88th Division Fighting Blue Devils, driving up the boot of Italy to Innsbruck, Austria where the war ended with Germany’s unconditional surrender. He received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. From the Brooklyn Dodgers of Ebbets Field, NY to the Atlanta Braves he was a lifelong baseball fan. Louis loved the Wiregrass Area and the South. After retiring from the Army he continued Federal Service to his country as a Postman in Enterprise , AL. Mr. Spadaro was preceded in death by his wife, Vera “Susi” Spadaro and a daughter, Antoinett Verso. Survivors include his daughter, Linda L. Spadaro, Fairhope, AL; son, Louis D. Spadaro, Headland, AL; three grandchildren.
