Marian Melvin Meredith

Marian Melvin Meredith, 86, of Enterprise, AL, surrounded by family at home, departed this world on September 16, 2017, to be with his Lord.             Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in Elba at Evergreen cemetery with a Navy Chaplain officiating. The family will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.              Born May 31, 1931 in Coffee County, he joined his beloved Navy and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8) with a 22 year career as a Naval Aviator, C130 Loadmaster and Vietnam Veteran. He returned home to Coffee County and completed a 20 year career at Fort Rucker with NAF. He enjoyed golf, being with his family and tending to his “critters” in and around the forest of his home.             He is preceded by his wife, Eula Mae, a son, David, a daughter, Kathleen Joiner, his parents, one brother and a sister.               He is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Roy) Klintworth; one son, Eddie (Becky) Meredith; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers.
