Mark Simmons Coale

Mark Simmons Coale, age 74, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Friday, April 22, 2022 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Enterprise First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Enterprise First United Methodist Church. Mark was born in Brewton, AL on May 6, 1947. He graduated from T. R. Miller High School in 1965. He attended the University of Alabama and the University of West Alabama where he earned his BS degree and later, his Master’s degree from Troy University. He was a teacher and coach in Brewton, AL at W. S. Neal High School for 10 years. He moved to Coffee County where he continued to teach and coach for another 10 years. He then worked as a principal from 2001 until 2006. He ended his career at Coffee County Central Office as special programs coordinator. He loved teaching, his family and his church. He had a passion for music, literature and poetry. Survivors include his wife, Jane McDaniel Coale, Enterprise, AL; daughters, Dana Coale Taylor (Andy) Ashford, AL; Betsy Coale Watson (Jeff) Kinston, AL; son, Benjamin M. Coale (Olivia) Dothan, AL; sister, Barbara Brownell, Pensacola, FL; 2 grandchildren, Caleb Coale Watson; Webb Davis Coale.
