Mary Fitzgerald Hodges-Neftel

Mary Fitzgerald Hodges-Neftel of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 in Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center. She was 94. She will be returned to Clinton, Maryland for services and burial. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Rodolfo Salinas-Cabrera officiating. Interment will follow in Washington National Cemetery. Mrs. Hodges-Neftel was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary was a career civil servant working for the Federal Department of Health and Human Services, starting as a GS-1 and retiring as a GS-12. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Annette (Everett) Fitzgerald, first husband Thomas R.A. Hodges, son Thomas G. Hodges, brothers, Roy Fitzgerald, Joseph Fitzgerald, Richard Fitzgerald, Francis Fitzgerald and sister Angela Bianchini. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Herbert Neftel; four daughters, Terri Cecchini (Maurice), Peggy Parsons (Bill), Jeanne Turner and Patricia McDaniel; two sons, Richard Hodges and James Hodges; Sisters, Dolores Klopfer and (Sister of Charity) Joan Annette,12 grandchildren, 11great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
