Milfred Gilmer (Gil) Kelley, 83, formerly of Enterprise, Alabama, died August 29, 2018 at Spring Meadows Health Care in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was born December 26, 1934 in Sweet Water, Alabama to Enoch Marvin and Mae Kelley. He was a graduate of Livingston University and the University of Alabama. Mr. Kelley retired as an English teacher from Enterprise High School and served 12 years on the Coffee County Board of Registrars. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Enterprise. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Celeste D. Kelley; daughter Kay Rye (Will) of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, James (Wilma) Kelley of Sweet Water, AL and Robert (Mary Ann) Kelley of Meridian, MS; one sister-in-law, Ramona Kelley of Thomasville, AL; and three grandsons, Logan, Garrett, and Joshua Rye. He was predeceased by two brothers, Enoch Kelly and Edward Kelley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Enterprise, with CH (LTC) David S. Kelley, Ph.D. officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery, with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be Tom Samuels, Ray Helms, Reid Lambert, Kenny Kelley, Tim Kelley, and Tony Grice.
