Myrllene Kincey Brown, 92, of Enterprise, AL, passed away on May 11, 2019 at home. Ms. Myrllene was born in Henry County, Alabama September 20, 1926 and is the eldest daughter of seven siblings. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 20, 2019 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Enterprise with The Reverend John Withrock, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Henry County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alpha Pi Chi Sorority, Delta Sigma Zeth Chapter, c/o Lynette Smith, 703 Dixie Drive, Enterprise, AL 36330. For most of her life, she lived in Enterprise. She has traveled extensively across the U.S., even venturing forth to visit many cities in Europe and the Caribbean. A lifelong learner, Ms. Myrllene received her early education at Henry County and North Highland School in Dothan, AL. She succeeded in her studies and entered college after completing the eleventh grade. After completing one year of college at Albany State College, she began teaching in the Henry County School System in 1945. She continued on completing her college education at Alabama State University earning her B.S. and Master’s Degree. In addition, she attended Tuskegee University and Troy University earning untold continuing credits in education. Along with an interest in reading and special studies, she has taught students of every age including Kindergarten through Adult Education in Alabama, South Carolina, and Michigan for 43 years. She’s taught a variety of subject areas including physical education, social studies, science, reading and composition, history, and more. After retiring, Ms. Myrllene continued to work in her community and her church. She’s been a family caregiver, a volunteer for Hospice, and visited folk in the local Nursing Home. She has served of the Board of Directors for the Enterprise Library and was honored in Making It Happen, the 1st Annual Multi-County Educator’s Banquet. Ms. Myrllene participated in many local events and activities in the Enterprise community including Alabama Retired Teachers Association of Coffee County and the Alpha Pi Chi/Delta Sigma Zeta Sorority. She was awarded a 50 year pin from the National Alpha Pi Chi organization and a clock from the local chapter for her service. She was frequently seen supporting various projects and venues in the community churches, at the local community college. Ms. Myrllene attended any activity and place that she was able to demonstrate life’s lessons of learning. She served as a role model of living a life of service and determination. She maintained an active and full life, always reaching out and looking to the Lord to guide and direct her path. Ms. Myrllene was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Martha Anderson, her husbands, Charlie T. Kincey and Nathaniel Brown, siblings, lalkus Anderson, Willow Jean Anderson, Thomas Edison Anderson, Sr., and Mary Barwick Dean. Ms. Myrllene is survived by her loving family, daughters, Alice Charlleana Kincey, of Miami, FL, and Jodie Loraine Walker, of Enterprise, AL; Sisters, Margaret Anderson Rudder, of Rochester, MI, and Joyce Stanford, of Enterprise, AL, Sister–in-law, Lillie Anderson, of West Bloomfield, MI; Brother-in-law, John Stanford, of Henry Co., AL; Nieces, LaBrenda Barwick, of Glen Allen, VA, Deirdre, Anderson, of West Bloomfield, MI, and Chelsea Rudder, of New York, NY; Nephews Nelson Barwick, of Rochester Hills , MI, Thomas Anderson, Jr., of Farmington Hills, MI, Ronald Anderson, of New York, NY, Donald Anderson (Paris), of Delafield, WI, Johnathan Stanford (Anne), Atlanta, GA; her loving great nieces and nephews; a special God-daughter, Lauren Morris, of Germany, a special friend, William Moguel of Enterprise, AL., and a host of beloved cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
