Nancy Coleman Dawson died at home on Saturday, January 6, 2018. She was born in Whatley, AL on October 11, 1933. Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Ella Coleman; a twin sister, Peg Harrison; a brother, Bob Coleman II; a sister, Martha deShazo; and her beloved husband, Charlie Dawson. Survivors include her son, Michael Havis Dawson (Liza); her daughter, Amy Dawson Seanor (Terry); three grandchildren, Charlie and Rebecca Dawson and Anna Claire Seanor. Miss Nancy will be remembered for her never ending generous spirit, her love of her family, watching Miss America, teaching, books, Bridge and Birthday Girls. Nancy’s family would like to thank Teresa Herrington, Lou and Bobby Meredith, Vivian Johnson, Myra Carter and the Dauphin Street Fireman that gracious came to her home so that she could “take a little ride with us, Miss Nancy”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and to all those to whom she gave her easy smile. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with Father John Withrock officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until service time on Sunday.
