Nancy Barker Peterson

Nancy Ann Barker Peterson, age 89, of Enterprise, AL and longtime resident of Chicago, IL, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her residence. Nancy earned a political science degree in 1953 from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN. She worked for The Girl Scouts, as a homemaker, and later in life at Midwest Outdoor Magazine. Her volunteer work included Peacock Camp in Lake Villa, IL and The Scleroderma Foundation. Nancy will be interned alongside her late husband, Richard at Arlington National Cemetery. Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her husband, Richard James Peterson. She is survived by her children, Ann Best (Frank), Menominee, MI, Jane Servold (Gary), Enterprise, AL, Rick Peterson (Sandra), Palm Coast, FL, and Mary Peterson, Rockville, MD. Nancy was “Mimi” to nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be planned for later this summer.
