Ray Henry Posey

Ray Henry Posey of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home. He was 85. Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating. Mr. Posey was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ona Posey; son, Marc Shelton Posey; brother, Wayne Posey; and his first wife, Elizabeth Irene (Rene) Posey. After serving in the US Air Force, Ray transferred to the US Army where he retired after serving 22 years. During those years, aviation became a big part of his life. He served in Vietnam as a Huey helicopter pilot and attained the rank of Captain. Following his retirement from the Army, he flew helicopters transporting oil rig employees to the rigs for Air Logistics. Survivors include his wife, Susan Kay Hemmer Posey, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Naomi Schena (Tom), Euless, TX; 3 sons, Ray Weston Posey (Gail), Spokane Valley, WA, Talton Grant Posey (Perri Futo), Covington, GA, Douglas Carl Dunbar (Nicki), Enterprise, AL; 3 sisters, Brenda Copeland, Trion, GA, Lanette Bradford, Dalton, GA, Sue Morgan, Menlo, GA; 2 brothers, Michael Posey, Summerville, GA, David Posey, Tunnel Hill, GA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
