March 10, 1978 — January 17, 2024

Robert Trent Thompson of Enterprise, AL passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home. He was 45. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 26, 2024 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his children’s memorial fund. Trent was born and raised in Enterprise, and for many years, you could probably find him on the nearest golf course or driving range. When Trent was young, his dad repeatedly removed his fork from his dominant left hand and placed it into his right, because left-handed golf clubs were hard to find. Trent eventually became right-handed, and those clubs were abundant....good thing, as he needed many clubs through the years. His diligence paid off and he could "hit it a mile long". Trent was a member of the first Enterprise High School golf team to win a Class 6A State Championship in 1996, his senior year. He played collegiately on ESJC's first ever golf team and then attended the University of Alabama where he studied Political Science. Trent returned home to work alongside his father at Enterprise Wholesale and started a family. Many special memories were made with family while riding seadoos at the beach, singing in his car, running around Disney, or cheering-on his children in their many athletic events. Trent frequented the ocean as he loved to SCUBA dive and spear fish. He enjoyed working-out and having fun and fellowship with his many friends. Trent is preceded in death by his father, Charles Richard Thompson, maternal grandparents, Irvin and Sara McIntosh, and paternal grandparents, R.L. “Judge” and Jonnie Thompson. Survivors include his two daughters, IsaBelle Thompson and Mary Charles Thompson, Enterprise, AL; son, Harrison Avery, Dothan, AL; mother, Martha Thompson, Enterprise, AL; sister, Allison Thompson Baxter (Kevin), Enterprise, AL; nephew, Elliott Baxter (fiancé, Ally), Enterprise, AL; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
