Sgm (Ret) Colin Barnes

Colin Barnes of Enterprise, AL passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. He was born on December 8, 1937. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, April 2, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family requests all memorial donations to go to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, AL 36360. He retired from the U. S. Army as a Sergeant Major in 1981. After retiring from the military he worked with the United States Postal Service. Colin was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Barnes; a son, David Barnes, a daughter, Jean Sims and a grandson, Jessie McCain. He is survived by his wife, Ann Barnes; his children, Kay (Danny) McCain; Richard (Judy) Barnes; Kathi (Carlos) Hart; Susan (Gary) Johnson; Patricia Sims; Joe Sims; brother, Elmon Barnes; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and other relatives.
