SFC (Ret) Marvin Lewis Harrell Sr. went home to be with God December 7, 2020. He was 79. He was born November 17, 1941 in Chesapeake, VA in an area called South Hill. He attended Daleville Christian Fellowship where he was ordained as a deacon. He was a faithful member of the church where he worked in the food pantry, coached sports activities and drove the church van. He was saved and loved the Lord. He was very loving and generous and was very proud of his service to God and his country. He served in Vietnam, Germany and Korea for over 30 years and retired a SFC. He worked as a helicopter mechanic in the military and as a civilian. Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Charles and Virginia Harrell; his brothers, Dallas, Earl, Dwight, Willie C. and Steven. Survivors include his loving wife, Frances Elaine Harrell, Daleville, AL; 2 sisters, Marcella Coles and Veronica (Theodore) Tutwiler, Norfolk, VA. 3 daughters, Cynthia (Paul) Quier, Enterprise, AL; Diane (John) Wigglesworth, San Antonio, TX; Suzette (Dennis) Meeks, Suffolk, VA; 2 sons, Marvin Jr. (Yolanda) Harrell, Alabaster, AL; Randall Harrell, Daleville, AL; his loving grandchildren, Drake McLeod; Tyler, Kyle and Conner Harrell; Randy and Ty Harrell; Robert, Timothy and Tasha Johnson; Faith, Adriana, Elizabeth and John boy Wigglesworth; Cassandra Harrell; Christopher Harrell and Brittney (Robert) Broughton; David Wade, Jr.; Morgan Davis and Matthew and Justin Meeks; a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Alabama National Cemetery located in Montevallo, AL. Family will receive friends at the Daleville Chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
