Steven Alan Baumgartner, age 61, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Flowers Hospital. Steve was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran and was employed with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He loved his family, his church, and his country. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, and opa who loved to spend his free time playing with his grandbabies. Steve was a Tactical Air Command and Control Specialist in the USAF for over 20 years and received numerous awards and medals for his heroic actions and unselfish dedication to duty. Some of these achievements include; Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Rifle and Combat Readiness Medal. Steve was preceded in death by his parents R. Dale and Patsy Baumgartner. He is survived by his wife, Eva Baumgartner of Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Jessi Baumgartner (Ryan) of Daleville, AL, and Jenni Baumgartner (Clayton) of Enterprise AL; two sisters, Debbie Wiley (Jerry) of St. Paul, IN, and Vicky Petts of Avon, IN; three grandchildren, Aiden Johnson, Elliot Johnson, and Sandra Farr; sister and brother in laws in Germany, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the TACP Association (https://tacpassociation.org/blog/) in Steve’s honor.
