Suzette Mangiacapra Jones, age 55 of Coffee Springs, AL passed away, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Southeast Health after a two-year battle with cancer. Suzette’s calling to serve others led to a 30+ year career as a Registered Nurse beginning at Flower’s Hospital, then Southeast Alabama Medical Center, and Dialysis Clinic, Inc. where she became the Nurse Manager. Her caring and compassionate nature was also shown through medical mission trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, and Peru with her church family at Heritage UMC. Suzette loved spending time with her family. By far, her favorite job was being “YaYa” to her five grandchildren. Suzette was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Terrell, Enterprise, AL; and her mother-in-love, Marjorie Charles, Coffee Springs, AL. Suzette is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Jimmy Jones, Coffee Springs, AL; two daughters, April Illman (Ray), Richmond Hill, GA; Samantha Jones (Zane), Colorado Springs, CO; a son, Josh Jones (Mandy), Crestview, FL; five grandchildren, Jocelyn, Eli, and Hannah Jones; Charles and Evelyn Illman; her father-in-love, E.R. Charles, Coffee Springs, AL; father, Louis F. Mangiacapra, Titusville, FL; a brother, Louis V. Mangiacapra (Amy), Mims, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 17, 2022 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Patrick McBride officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M. on Monday. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Research Center in her memory.
