Ted Mathews Walls passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Opp Health and Rehabilitation. He was 81. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Edd Brashier officiating. Ted’s career began after graduating from Morehead University in Kentucky. After a brief duty in the U.S. Airforce, he was employed as a Journalist, with the U.S. Department of Defense, Civil Service. His career stationed him in seven different states; eventually arriving and retiring here at the Public Affairs Office, Fort Rucker, AL. He liked to travel, he vacationed in France, Germany, Cancun, Mexico; New Orleans, LA, and to South Africa. His hobbies were photography of: nature, wildlife, and beach sunrises and sunsets. He enjoyed visiting zoos and botanical gardens. He played the clarinet and the trumpet, he also enjoyed music and the arts. His favorite food was shrimp, his favorite place to be was at the beach, and at home with his two cats, Princess and LT Dan, both rescued from a local shelter. Ted enjoyed the fellowship at First Baptist Church, the Lions Club, the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, and his “current events” discussion group friends, Charles Oliver, Tommy Patterson and Bob Keeler. Survivors include his uncle, William (Bill) Walls (Carol), Bardstown, KY; members of the Joe Talmadge Sunday School class; members of the Enterprise Lions Club; members of First Baptist Church Enterprise; members of the Silver Sneakers. He will be missed by all his friends. Ted lived life to the fullest. He loved and believed in Jesus Christ, and he is now at his forever home with Him.
