Lamar Harrison, age 84, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Woodstock, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Randy Lamar; his Mother, Addie Harrison and Father, Leon Harrison; and several loving brothers, sisters and in-laws. Lamar is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sylvia Shaneen Harrison; their daughter Patsy Harrison Curtis; their grandson William Harrison Curtis and his father William Henry Curtis and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lamar was especially proud of his grandson, William Harrison Curtis Lamar was a native of Elba, Alabama. Lamar and Sylvia moved to Gulfport, Mississippi in 1961. Lamar worked for McClendon Building Services as a Master Carpenter in Gulfport for 33 years. He was a member of Handsboro United Methodist Church. After he retired, Lamar and Sylvia moved to Woodstock, Georgia, so they could be close to their daughter Patsy and their grandson Harrison. They lived in Woodstock for 27 years. In his retirement years, Lamar enjoyed woodcrafting. He made baskets of toys for friends, family, neighbors and underprivileged children. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. A graveside service was held at the family cemetery at Asbury Methodist Church in Elba, Alabama at 2:00 p.m. on January 18, 2022
