William E. (Will) Searcy, son of William B. (Bill) and Eddie S. Searcy, joined his father and uncle in the family business in 2003. Will graduated from Enterprise High School in 1998 and Auburn University in 2003. He is married to Katherine Rutledge Searcy of Marrietta, GA, who earned her Undergraduate and Masters degree from the University of Alabama.
Mike Thompson joined the Searcy family business in August of 1968, shortly after he graduated Elba High School. He worked part-time as he attended Enterprise State Junior College. After attending school, he became a full-time employee and began to learn the funeral profession. He received his practical embalmer and funeral director license in 1976.
Mike has lived in Enterprise since he was 18 years old. Mike has reared three children, Michael, Melissa, and Lewie. Mike is a Sunday School teacher in the Youth Department and a deacon at First Baptist Church in Enterprise.
Gary Lunsford is a native of Enterprise, having graduated from Enterprise High School in 1991. He is married to Kathy Jones Lunsford, and they have four children. Gary joined the staff in October 2000. Gary was licensed as a funeral director by the Alabama Board of Funeral Service in 2003.
Terri Etheredge was born and raised in Ringgold, GA. She has lived in Daleville, AL, since 1978 and is married to Wess Etheredge.
They share six sons and four grandchildren.
Terri became a part of the Searcy family on March 8, 2015, and feels very honored and blessed to have joined.
Bill Searcy, son of J. Lomax Sr. and Dorothy Bevis Searcy, continued the family tradition started by his grandfather, Polk Houston Searcy, until his death on February 27, 2020. He was actively involved in the family profession for over 40 years.
J. Lomax Searcy Jr., son of J. Lomax Sr. and Dorothy Bevis Searcy, was brought into the family business in 1964 as the result of the death of his father. He was actively involved in the family business since 1964. Maxie died on May 1, 2020.
Angeline Daughtry Simmons joined the Searcy Funeral Home staff as a preneed counselor and later became office manager. She was a native of Enterprise and a graduate of Enterprise High School and Wallace Business College. She was married to Ted Simmons.
John Burch joined the staff of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory in July of 2011. He was a licensed funeral director and brought several years of experience to our firm.
He was married to Sylvia Ann Burch, a retired school teacher. They lived in Enterprise and were members of Cool Springs Baptist Church, where John served as a Deacon.
They have two children, a son named John Jeffrey Burch (wife Joyce) and a daughter named Alisa Suzanne Bramlett ( husband Korey). They also have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
